In recent times, Huawei, the creator of the NM memory card, and BIWIN, a leading brand of memory chips in China, jointly signed a patent license for the NM memory card. BIWIN is gearing up for the production and sales of NM memory cards and contributes to the prosperity of the NM memory card ecosystem.

The NM memory card (Nano Memory Card, hereinafter listed as NM Card) is an ultra-miniature memory card patented by Huawei. The NM card is 45% smaller than the Micro SD card and features almost specifications as the Nano SIM card. When using an NM card, it needs to insert into a slot of smartphone to expand its storage.

The NM memory card, officially released by Huawei, can deliver a sequential read speed of 90 MB/s and a sequential write speed of 70 MB/s, respectively. It far outperforms the SD U3 (minimum write speed of 30 MB/s) standard. As claimed by the latest test data from BIWIN labs, the read and write speeds of the NM card authorized by us are up to Huawei's requirements for specifications.

As the functions of smartphones increasingly become powerful, the contradiction between the ultimate performance and storage space will gradually loom out. Taking the HUAWEI P30 Pro 128 GB as an example, the phone sports a Leica quad-camera on its rear: 40 MP super-sensitive camera (wide-angle, f/1.6 aperture, OIS) + 20MP ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.2 aperture) + 8MP super-zoom camera (f/3.4 aperture, OIS) + Huawei Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera). The single front camera is 32 MP. Also, the phone comes with exceptional algorithms, making it a pinnacle experience whether it takes pictures or video recording. Frequent photo shooting and video recording consume a lot of storage space. In that regard, ultra-high performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability of NM memory cards turn out to be handy. Plus, the NM memory card packed with an adaptive card reader is convenient for the backup and transfer of mobile phone data.

The mobile phones currently backed by Huawei NM memory cards include HUAWEI Mate 30 series (Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, Mate 30 RS Porsche Design), HUAWEI Mate 20 series (Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche Design), HUAWEI P30 series (P30, P30 Pro), HUAWEI nova 5, and HUAWEI nova 5 Pro. The NM card reportedly will support more Huawei smart devices in the future to meet the diverse needs of customers. The NM cards authorized by BIWIN for mass production cover different capacities such as 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. It is expected to be launched in Q1 of 2020. Stay tuned to us.
