Recently, Huawei, the founder of the NM Card^®/NM memory card, signed a patent license agreement for the NM memory cards with BIWIN, the leading brand of memory chips in China. BIWIN is ready for the production and sales of NM memory cards, and it will contribute to the prosperity of the NM memory card ecology.

Huawei's NM memory card (Nano Memory Card) is an ultra-micro memory card for which Huawei has proprietary patent. Compared with the Micro SD^® memory card, its volume is reduced by 45%, and its specifications are almost the same as that of the Nano SIM card. The use of the NM card takes up a Nano SIM card slot in the mobile phone, and it can realize the expansion of the mobile phone's storage.

The officially announced sequential read speed of Huawei's NM memory card is up to 90MB/s and its sequential write speed is up to 70MB/s, which far exceeds the standard of SD U3 (minimum write speed of 30MB/s). According to the latest test data from BIWIN's lab, the reading and writing speeds of the NM cards produced by BIWIN with authorization meet Huawei's specification requirements for NM cards.

As features of smart phones become more and more powerful, the contradiction between ultimate experience and storage space will gradually be manifested. Taking the 128GB Huawei P30 Pro as an example, this mobile phone model has four Leica camera lenses on its back (namely: 40-megapixel ultra-sensitive camera (wide-angle, f/1.6 aperture, OIS) + 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.2 aperture) + 8 MP Super Zoom Camera (f/3.4 aperture, OIS) + Huawei Time-of-Flight (ToF) Camera), and a single 32-megapixel front camera. Coupled with excellent algorithm support, this kind of smartphones provides ultimate experience for both photography and video recording. However, frequent photographing and video recording will consume a lot of the mobile phone's storage space, and this is where the advantages of the NM memory card's ultra-high performance, ultra-high cost performance and high scalability are fully reflected. In addition, the NM memory card comes with an adaptive card reader, which facilitates the backup and transfer of mobile phone data.

The mobile phone models that are currently supported by Huawei's NM memory card are the Huawei Mate 30 series mobile phones (Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, Porsche Design Mate 30 RS), Huawei Mate 20 series mobile phones (Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Porsche Design Mate 20 RS), Huawei P30 series mobile phones (P30, P30 Pro) as well as Huawei nova 5 and Huawei nova 5 Pro. It is reported that the NM memory card will support more Huawei smart devices in the future to meet diverse needs of customers. The NM cards in mass production by BIWIN with authorization cover various specifications that include 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, and they are expected to be launched in Q1 of 2020, so stay tuned.
