BIWIN Delivers End-to-End Automotive Storage Solutions for In-Vehicle Multi-Scenario Applications

Date:2025/11/21 Read:155

As intelligent transportation and connected vehicles continue to expand its footprint, in-vehicle terminals are now widely deployed across fleet management, road supervision, logistics scheduling, special-purpose vehicles, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The multi-functional edge-computing nodes that integrate positioning, communication, video recording, event triggers, and remote management highly demand sustained, reliable and integrated data storage capabilities.

In-vehicle scenarios are faced by three prominent challenges, including drastic temperature fluctuations across regions, high vibration frequencies, and heavy concurrent write workloads. These conditions demand significantly higher levels of storage stability, reliability, and data consistency.

To address this, BIWIN Spec has leveraged extensive experience in automotive-grade storage R&D to deliver a comprehensive storage solution tailored for in-vehicle terminals. The solution is built around four core pillars: sustained multi-stream recording, endurance under harsh environmental conditions, end-to-end data integrity protection, and a secure, fully domestic supply chain.

01 Complete Product Portfolio for Layered Storage Needs

In-vehicle terminals integrate video surveillance, GNSS positioning, remote communications, and system runtime management. BIWIN offers a full storage product ecosystem covering SSDs, eMMC, SD/microSD cards, and DDR/LPDDR—supporting layered storage from system boot media to high-speed buffering to continuous video data logging.

02 Win-REC Intelligent Write Algorithm: Enabling Sustained Concurrent Recording

In response to concurrent data flows and hybrid write workloads generated by in-vehicle AI terminals and V2X applications, BIWIN Spec adopts self-developed Win-REC intelligent write algorithms. By applying intelligent data sharding and type-aware write management, the algorithm ensures sustained write stability over long-term operation—preventing frame drops, latency spikes, or recording interruptions. At the same time, it reduces write amplification to extend NAND endurance and overall device lifetime.

Testing results indicate that the TDS601 SSD series supports continuous 7×24 recording of 32 channels at 1MB/s per channel; the TDS200-R SSD series supports 24 channels at 1MB/s per channel; the TDC200/TGC200 SD & microSD series supports 8 channels at 1MB/s per channel under the same conditions.

Throughout the test period, all data streams remained stable with no stutter, no interruption, and no frame loss, demonstrating consistent peak write performance across product families.

03 High-Reliability Design from Firmware to Manufacturing

Automotive environments expose storage devices to shock, thermal cycling, humidity, and voltage fluctuations—factors that can cause data loss or device failure. BIWIN Spec adopts a design philosophy of exceeding standard industrial-grade requirements, building a comprehensive reliability assurance framework.

Key features include:

04 Fully Domestic Supply Chain: Secure, Autonomous, and Trustworthy

To support the security and sovereignty requirements of automotive and transportation platforms, BIWIN ensures full domestic sourcing and vertically integrated development. In R&D, BIWIN utilizes strictly-selected domestic wafer and components for fundamental security, and equipped with self-developed firmware and critical algorithms, it achieves dual-optimizations in performance and security. In terms of packaging and manufacturing, the company boasts advanced SiP system-level packaging and full-stack testing capabilities (a diverse testing algorithm library and self-developed testing equipment), forming a full domestic chain.

In addition, its advanced production, manufacturing and delivery support stable supply up to 10 years of lifecycle continuity to prevent redesign and EOL risks for domestic automotive industry.

05 Conclusion

The convergence of navigation and V2X applications has positioned in-vehicle terminals as the foundational data nodes of the transportation intelligence ecosystem, far beyond just as locations tools. As such, data integrity, consistency, and traceability are now mission-critical design priorities.

With its complete product lineup, in-house Win-REC intelligent write architecture, reliability beyond industrial-grade standards and a fully domestic supply chain, BIWIN has built a robust high-reliability storage framework for in-vehicle applications—empowering fleet operations, logistics systems, and special-purpose vehicles with dependable storage infrastructure.
